LAMP FELLOWSHIP

PRS Legislative Research is a Delhi-based independent research organisation working with Members of Parliament (MPs) across party lines to provide research support on legislative and policy issues. PRS works with the objective of making the legislative process more transparent, informed and participatory. You can read more about our work at www.prsindia.org.


PRS Legislative Research is inviting application for LAMP Fellowship 2015-16.  This is a unique opportunity for young Indians to work with a Member of Parliament for 11 months in a structured manner.  This Fellowship may be of interest to your students. PRS is now inviting applications from exceptional, highly-motivated young Indian citizens for the LAMP Fellowship 2015 - 16.

The Legislative Assistants to Members of Parliament (LAMP) Fellowship provides an opportunity for young Indians to be mentored by a Member of Parliament for a period of 11 months. The Fellows will be based in Delhi during the Fellowship Period and work full time with an MP providing research input to the MP’s parliamentary interventions. LAMP Fellows will also engage with policy makers and experts from diverse sectors through participation in workshops on important policy and development issues.

The Fellowship was conceptualized by PRS in 2010 and now has about 50 Fellows every year. Previous LAMP Fellows come from diverse educational and professional backgrounds. In the past, Fellows had degrees across areas such as engineering, basic sciences, social sciences, law, commerce, management, literature etc., from both Indian and foreign universities. 

Eligibility criteria :

·         Candidate must be below 25 years of age, i.e. born on or after January 1, 1990.
·         Candidate must have at least a Bachelor's degree in any academic discipline.
·         Only Indian citizens are eligible for the LAMP Fellowship.
