We have the following requirement for the Kolkata Book Fair 2015.

British Council Kolkata is looking for volunteers to work at the Kolkata Book Fair 2015 from 28 Jan to 8 Feb 2015. Volunteers will be required to engage with target audiences and promote the British Council library services.

One must:

· Possess excellent communication and presentation skills (English and Bengali/Hindi)

· Be target oriented and enjoy socialising and networking with people

· Be pleasant, cheerful and efficient in dealing with people and enjoy working in a team

RAKSHAK FOUNDATION

Rakshak Foundation is non-profit organization founded by Alumni from India's elite educational institutes like the IITs and IIMs and is based in California, USA with a partner organization in India. Rakshak foresees citizen awareness and participation in governance as the first step in understanding and resolving the most pressing social issues in India like corruption, education, health, accountability, efficiency and transparency etc. The highly dedicated think tank at Rakshak Foundation does analysis and research on various public policy issues including Parliamentary bills and provides its recommendations to decision makers. In the last few years, Rakshak Foundation has been invited 12 times by the parliamentary committees for oral deposition.

Research Programme:
Summer Research programme aims to engage the youth in governance by giving them a first-hand exposure to policy issues and help them make a positive impact on the society. This in turn, would help the Foundation accomplish its objective of furthering citizen participation in governance. The programme engages exceptionally motivated students from diverse backgrounds on research projects spanning the following research areas:

· Legal and Social Research

· Improving Accountability, Efficiency and Transparency of Public Offices

· Accountability and Responsibility in Journalism

· Promoting Responsible Citizenry

· Improving Quality of Life - Infrastructure, Traffic, Pollution and Basic Necessities

· Promoting positive aspects of our culture and society

Some Important Internship Details:
Stipend: Rs 10,000 for entire Program duration.
Work Place: IIT Delhi
Duration: 9 Weeks

The challenge is on once again to be part of India's most exciting post-graduate programme, the Young India Fellowship (YIF). Applications are open for YIF's Class of 2015 -2016, the fifth edition of the ground-breaking multi-disciplinary fellowship that is fostering India's academic, social and business leaders of tomorrow.

The Young India Fellowship (YIF) is a one-year multidisciplinary post-graduate programme in Liberal Studies & Leadership. It brings together a group of bright young men and women from across the country and diverse disciplines and trains them to become socially committed change agents for the future. It exposes them to a rich and diverse set of subjects and perspectives, delivered by some of the finest professors and teachers from India and around the world.
YIF is delivered in collaboration with University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS), Carleton College and University of Michigan; King’s College, London and Sciences Po, Paris.
YIF offers full and partial scholarships to successful applicants and there is no fee for applying to the programme.

Eligibility : All departments
The YIF programme is open to all Indian citizens* with:
-A recognised undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
-No more than three years of work experience.
-No more than 28 years of age on 31st May, 2015.
The Fellowship promotes diversity and applicants from all areas of specialisation are encouraged to apply. While applicants who have been educated in a vernacular language as their medium of instruction are welcome, it is expected that they will be able to converse, read and write in English.
