Indian folk became operational in August 2016 and strives to serve as an inclusive platform for young Indians to share their news analysis, opinion, and commentary. The organization is mostly run by youths across different locations in India who continuously strive to make the platform better.
ABOUT INTERNSHIP/JOB PROFILE:
Selected interns for the News & Opinion Writer role will have the flexibility to work from home and college for 10 hours per week (i.e. part-time) for the one-month period starting from October.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
IndianFolk.com is seeking News & Opinion Writers to work in our fast-paced work environment. These writers will have a know how to make political stories interesting and help shape content for various coverage verticals such as politics, economy, international, technology, entertainment, sports and health & life. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in current affairs and needs to be a strong, innovative writer with eagerness to embrace changes in the news. Some experience with digital strategy and social media preferred.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop crisp news & opinion articles as per information generated by newspapers, magazines and press releases from the Internet, library or other sources to perform research and write unbiased and factual news & opinion stories. Perform research for story development and monitor story all through its various stages. Develop and write news stories that address the interest of our young users provide short video summaries of articles, and participate in discussions and debates with other staff and interns. On certain occasions, interns may be required to survey/inquire public on socio-economic issues as a part of the articles being written.
The stipend for the internship shall be Rs. 7,500 Per month.
