Job Description – Economics Research Intern
Company Introduction: Nikore Associates (NA) is a youth-led policy design and research think tank. Our
research focuses on infrastructure and development, including labour, gender, industrial development,
transport, logistics, and more. Our policy recommendations and research have been published in many
national and international publications and news media.
Responsibilities:
Providing secondary research assistance for policy briefs, research proposals, op-eds and blog posts.
Preparing knowledge documents, presentations and excel databases.
Every team member is expected to perform some administrative tasks related to everyday
functioning and management.
Interns are expected to display teamwork skills, as they will work closely with a team of bright
students and early career professionals enthusiastic about policy in India and beyond.
Eligibility and Skills Required:
Individuals who have completed or are currently pursuing an undergraduate or masters degree in
Economics, Development Studies or related fields are preferred.
A passion for the following development sector themes is a must: gender, infrastructure
development, transport and logistics, and skill development, amongst others.
Those who thrive in start-up environments and showcase leadership skills are best suited for this
role.
Location and Work Hours:
This is a remote position with considerable flexibility.
Interns are expected to commit 15-18 hours per week for part-time
internship and 35-40 hours per week for full-time internship.
Duration of Internship:
All Economics Research Interns start with a two-month contract.
This is a probationary period.
Based on quality of work and availability, the internship may be
extended.
Remuneration:
This role is currently unpaid.
Interns who display commitment, excellent research skills, and
leadership abilities have the opportunity to transition into a Research
Associate/ Research Manager position. Based on quality of work and
availability, a stipend may be offered.
