Internship @ Letsupp (Bangla)

Letsupp, the first hyper-local app of India ( https://tinyurl.com/yjvuw459 ), provides news updates in various formats in multiple vernacular languages,round the clock. In West Bengal, the Letsupp Bangla team is working 24x7, providing latest hyper-local updates in Bengali, covering 23 districts. 

 

LANGUAGE:  English, Hindi, Bengali

LOCATION: Park Street, Kolkata

The working hours will be 10:00 hrs - 19:00 hrs and the internship stipend shall vary between Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000. At the end of the term, the interns will be provided with a certificate. If the performance of the concerned individual pursuing internship is impressive, Letsupp will consider the individual in absorbing into the organisation in the journey ahead. 

 

1. Trainee Journalist

 

Final Year 2021 Students or Fresh Graduates in English (Hons), Bengali (Hons.), Political Science (Hons.), Sociology (Hons.) or Mass Communication.

 

Skills required: 

 

* Excellent flair of writing in Bengali 

* Ability to type in Bengali and use app interface

* Excellent Communication Skills dealing with personalities from various strata of society

*Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and multi-task

* Confident and driven

* Ability to work effectively in a new age team and having keen interest in news, politics including current affairs

 

Must have:

* Smart phone and laptop with internet connectivity

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

•  Reporting from places, rallies events as per instructions of the team
•  Sending stories from incident places without any delay
•  Taking interviews of individuals

 

2. Proof-reader / Copy Editor 

 

Final Year Students or Fresh Graduates in English (Hons.), Bengali (Hons.), Sociology or Mass Communication

 

Skills required: 

 

* Excellent flair of writing in Bengali 

* Knowledge on Indian Politics, Hyper-local socio-economic fabric of Kolkata and the districts of West Bengal

* Ability to type in Bengali and use app interface

* Excellent Communication Skills

*Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and multi-task

* Confident and driven

* Ability to work effectively in a new age media team and having keen interest in news, civic issues, human interest stories, politics including current affairs

 

Must have:

* Smart phone and laptop with internet connectivity

 

Duties and responsibilities

           

• Copy editing articles in quick time
• Editing stories as per the app format
• Will directly report to the Editor
• Regularly coordinate with the stringers

 

3. Video Editor 

 

Final Year Students or Fresh Graduates in Videography/ Animation/ Allied courses

 

* Excellent flair of editing videos  

* Skilful in using various popular software with regard to video editing   

* A visual conceptualiser who has strong aesthetic sense of choices and priorities of netizens using apps

* Ability to type in Bengali, English

* Excellent Communication Skills

*Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and multi-task

* Confident and driven

* Ability to work effectively in a new age media team and having keen interest in news, civic issues, human interest stories, politics including current affairs

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

• Curate short videos, fiction & non-fiction based and docu based features as well.
• Delivery on an emergency basis 
• Flexibility of working at home, if need
