About GIST Fellowship
:
GIST Fellowship aims to encourage and enable individuals to immerse themselves into larger and meaningful participation in the social sector.  The purpose is to build youth leaders and learned human resources for the social sector. It is also the perfect way to blend travel and social work at one go.

Structure
- The fellowship will be for a duration of 2 months (November and December)
- The 2 months will include coursework, travel to different locations and document impact stories and NGO volunteering.
- The role of the fellow will be to document impact stories/case stories of the beneficiaries. They will be conducting verification visits in order to assure that the beneficiaries have received the benefits promised to them. Content curation in terms of text/photos/videos etc is one major highlight.
- The fellow will have the opportunity to interact with major actors from the social sector and understand the nuances, thus enabling them to spearhead as youth leaders.
GIST fellowship does not have a provision for a stipend, however, it is an all-expense paid travel, where all fellowship related expenses will be reimbursed in terms of food/stay/travel. 
- The fellowship will be virtual in nature. All guidance will be provided over online calls.

What do the fellows get out of it? 
- Exposure to the social sector and the opportunity to travel and be part of a real-time experience of knowing how non-profits function.
- To build leadership skills, to be able to inculcate decision-making abilities spontaneously and to take ownership of work and be able to judge whether or not an organization is being genuine.
- Each and every fellow will be featured on our website as well as our communication channels, along with the body of work they will be doing.
- Certificates, letters of recommendation and guidance pertaining to the fellowship shall also be provided.

ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP

GiveIndia fellowship is a travel fellowship for fresh graduates, college students, media
students, travel enthusiasts who are committed and self-motivated to work in the social
sector.
The fellows will play an active part in the social sector in evaluating GiveIndia’s impact on
the beneficiaries. The fellows are encouraged to immerse into the field to understand the
nuances of social work.
The fellowship will include coursework, volunteering in an NGO and travelling to different
places to conduct verification Visits (VV) and document impact stories.
The fellows will get to interact first hand with beneficiaries and NGOs to validate whether
the promised benefits have been provided to him/her
The fellows will be provided with a nominal stipend of basic TA/DA for fellowship related
expenses.

ROLE OF THE FELLOW

Travel to different places in order to conduct Verification Visits.
Verifying/documenting the different beneficiaries/impact stories accounted in the VV
process.
Creative documentation of impact stories/travel accounts through
stories/photos/videos.

2 months – November and December 2019

College students/Fresh graduates/Media students
Motivated individuals who are committed to work in the social sector
Individuals who are able to work independently with minimum supervision
Women are encouraged to apply.
