CollegeLab is an Overseas Education Consultancy dedicated to creating a robust mentorship framework for high school students aspiring after some of the top university programmes across the world. As alumnae of top global universities including Oxford, Cambridge, and Columbia, our Founders and Mentors seek to utilize their own university application experiences, academic and research expertise to steer more young students to success. ## Position:  Junior Editor and Content Developer

Job Summary: CollegeLab is on the lookout for passionate writers and editors interested in venturing into the overseas education and career counselling industry. We seek candidates with strong creative vision and persuasive communication skills to guide our next batch of CollegeLab applicants, elevate their writing profiles and prepare them for the rigour of university-level academic writing.

No prior editorial experience is mandatory, because we have a comprehensive training program in place for all Junior Editors. However, any creative writing accomplishments, leadership and public speaking experience would be highly valued in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

 Working with students and Mentors to ideate, draft, and edit writing assignments. Then reviewing, offering feedback and improving student submissions.

 Assisting in the organization and delivery of writing workshops and webinars. Developing writing guides and handbooks for student training programmes.

 Turning in periodical education and overseas application articles or blogs for the company website or social media pages.

 Attending weekly editorial training modules, adhering to quality control processes, and collaborating with Head Editor and Mentors on workflow and task assignments.

Selection Process:

The selection process will take place in the following rounds:

Round 1: Evaluation of writing samples + 1 Writing Assessment + 1 Review and Feedback Assessment

Round 2: Review and Feedback Delivery Assessment + Interview

Round 3: Shortlisted candidates will be hired as interns for two weeks. During this period, they will work on paid assignments and projects that will be reviewed constantly.

Candidates who perform successfully in this evaluation will be offered positions as Junior Editors with CollegeLab.


## Position:  Personal Assistant and Content Developer

Job Summary: The CollegeLab team is seeking a versatile professional, with the ability to serve in a cross-functional role as Personal Assistant to the company Founder and CEO, Mr, Shayantan Rahman, as well as a Content Developer with the Editorial Team. Therefore, we’re looking for a responsible, methodical candidate with strong organizational skills and competent English communication, to undertake a suite of secretarial and administrative tasks. When required, this candidate should also have the proficiencies to be able to serve as an Assistant Editor and add value to the Editorial Team during the peak college application season.

Applicants should keep in mind that this is a very hands-on position, which requires constant responsiveness, quick research skills, and the flexibility to travel within Kolkata and to other metro cities for business purposes. No prior secretarial or content writing experience is mandatory, and both freshers and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply. However, any experience undertaking organizational and leadership roles, creative writing or public speaking accomplishments would be highly valued in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

 Serving as the point of contact between the CEO and external clients.

o Screening, directing, and responding appropriately to calls and correspondence on behalf of the CEO.

o Managing the CEO’s daily schedule— arranging appointments, making travel arrangements.

o Accompanying the CEO or other company personnel to meetings and conferences, escorting clients, and location scouting for company events.

o Summarizing and producing reports, presentations, and briefs.

 Collaborating with Editors to review and edit student writing assignments or organize writing workshops, contributing to writing guides for student training programmes and creating articles for the company website and social media pages.

Selection Process:

The selection process will take place in the following rounds:

Round 1: Evaluation of CV and writing samples + 1 Written Assessment

Round 2: 1 Speaking Assessment + Online Interview


Package Offered:

Remuneration for both Junior Editor and Personal Assistant positions:

Rs 2,40,000 per annum during the probation period, which lasts between 3 to 6 months depending upon performance and training evaluations. This is followed by the review and confirmation process after which the new entrant is onboarded as a full-time employee, eligible for all company benefits, and upwards of Rs 3,00,000 in annual compensation. Remuneration brackets are further negotiable based on industry standards for experienced applicants.
