Custody and Fund Services

Custody and Fund Services, is a global industry leader with $18 trillion in assets under custody. J.P. Morgan provides innovative custody, fund accounting and administration and securities services to the world’s largest institutional investors, alternative asset managers and debt and equity issuers. J.P. Morgan’s Custody and Fund Services business is comprised of Custody, Accounting, Transfer Agency, Middle Office outsourcing, Foreign Exchange, and other activities related to servicing assets for traditional and alternative funds; it leverages its scale and capabilities in more than 100 markets to help clients optimize efficiency, mitigate risk and enhance revenue through a broad range of investor services as well as securities clearance, collateral management and alternative investment services.

The successful candidate will be working with the global product team to come with a standard offering for our clients. The successful candidate will be expected to work on conversion of funds from the existing platform to the new vendor platform, re-engineer processes, client data analytics, drive change and implement operational efficiencies in a controlled fashion through effective use of our technology stack.

PROCESS DESCRIPTION

The Hedge Funds Financial Reporting (HFS) process involves preparation of financial statements for hedge funds based out of Dublin. The financial reports include annual audited financial statements/interim (half yearly)/ quarterly abridged financial statements for clients. Depending on fund registration Fund Annual Return is also prepared.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Team Leader is an integral part of the HFS team who will be responsible for the preparation of afore-mentioned financial statements under IFRS and US GAAP:

• Balance Sheets (depending on fund structure, may be called Statements of Assets and Liabilities, Statements of Financial Position, etc.)

• Income Statements (usually called Statements of Operations; Statement of Comprehensive Income)

• Statement of Changes in Net Assets (depending on the fund structure; may be called Statement of Changes Partners’ Capital)

• Statements of Cash Flows

• Schedule of Investments or Condensed Statement of Investments

• Notes to Financial Statements


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparation of HFS's primary financial statements in accordance with the accounting and regulatory disclosure requirements within agreed deadlines.

• Preparation of regulatory and other reports as required.

• Ongoing analysis of client accounting records and escalation, where appropriate, of any potential issues identified

• Coordination with the Dublin (partner site) for resolving Client/Audit Queries.

About you

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

• Graduate/Post Graduate (Finance / Accounts specialization), Chartered Accountant or MBA (with specialization in Finance) experience in the Hedge /Mutual Fund financial reporting, fund accounting/other financial reporting experience.

KEY SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of financial instruments and their accounting and reporting treatment.

• Knowledge of Mutual funds/Hedge Funds/Capital Markets.

• Understanding of financial and regulatory reporting requirements.

• Professional approach for delivering quality client service

• Sound Microsoft Word & Excel knowledge.

• Attention to details.

• Good communication skills.

JOB LOCATION

• Mumbai (Powai - L&T Business Park and Malad West - Paradigm B)

WORKING HOURS

• Flexible to work in any shifts (either starting 6AM IST or ending at 12:30AM IST). Sufficient coverage of

Dublin Time zone hours during peak annual financial reporting cycle (January – March/April)

Join our global investment banking team and help our senior bankers serve clients. As an Analyst/Junior Analyst you will work with investment bankers across regional locations to prepare marketing materials for clients including components like market and industry landscapes, financial analysis & valuations, profiles & benchmarking etc. You will research key trends about companies and industries to form views for internal and external use. You’ll synthesize news, financial reports and company information to prepare pitch materials, updates and client reports. These materials can relate to mergers & acquisitions or capital raising.

Job Responsibilities:

 Perform & Review daily, monthly, quarterly and annual Accounting /Operations functions

 Ensure all scheduled work is completed by agreed deadlines, checklists are signed and pack contains all required documentation

 Ensure that all controls and procedures outlined in the procedures manual and general company policies are complied with

 Create, maintain and update procedures for client specific deliverables

 Develop a thorough knowledge of our client base

 Work with accounting, investment operations, reconciliations, investor relations and financial reporting teams to agree with internal deadlines to ensure external client deadlines are met

 Ensure there is appropriate back up on each fund to cover holidays, absences and turnover

 Assist with training and coaching new team members as the group grows

 Participate in projects, Streamline operational processes to reduce risk and improve efficiency

 Identify operational issues and escalate to Manager on a timely basis

 Regularly review Standard Operation Procedures and make recommendations for improvements

Experience & Qualifications:

 Commerce Graduate,

 Experience in hedge fund accounting with end to end experience on accounting for all major security types (Equity, all derivatives and fixed income)

 Solid securities market knowledge

 Excellent oral/written communication & interpersonal skills

 Strong team Player who can work with a team of diversified backgrounds

 Communicate well at all levels, liaising with team members and management

 Willingness to work in shifts (weekends, only if required)

 Exercise high levels of discipline & concentration

 Flexible, organized & proactive attitude towards work is essential

 Good Time Management Skills

 Ability to multi-task, follow through on inquiries and research discrepancies
