LetsEndorse is a digital market-network (a social-network cum marketplace) dedicated to social development, comprising nonprofits, social entrepreneurs, companies, communities, and local administration. We are proud to be backed by Social Alpha (a Tata Trusts Initiative) and incubated as part of NASSCOM 10k Start-ups, Bangalore. Our team consists of individuals from marquee institutions like IIMs, IITs, TISS, NIT, ICAI, and Ashoka University with rich cross-sectoral experience who have been associated with Goldman Sachs, Infosys, Cognizant, and Citibank. On the journey to enable 10,000 MSMEs, the team identified a need for a representation of small entrepreneurs in business literature, educational content, and media to enable a mass movement towards micro-entrepreneurship in India. Identifying these entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds can in some way leave an imprint in the minds of individuals who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, by bringing relatability, self-confidence, and hope. This idea came up with the launch of the ‘The Great Indian Entrepreneurship (TGIE)’ Project at a pan-India level.

Goal of TGIE Project

• TGIE, the year-long Project is an initiative to identify, record, and publish the stories of Indian micro-entrepreneurs who have started up against all odds and are successfully running their businesses.

• The project aims to include Undergraduate and Post Graduate students at premiere colleges/universities across India to achieve the goal of capturing 10,000 stories of entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds across India by 2022-23.

• Besides capturing stories, students from respective colleges are also encouraged to lead the entire project by holding mentorship programs and mega events related to entrepreneurship thereby turning this into a massive movement at a national level.

Structure of the Project

The project will be implemented in two major phases:

Phase 1: - Capturing Stories (Oct 1st ‘21 to Jan 14 ‘22)

Key objectives of Phase 1

● Preparation of a comprehensive database of entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds.

● Partnering with the entrepreneurship networks and reaching out to them for conducting interviews.

● Converting the interviews to various types of social media content and dissemination.

Phase 2: - Mentorship (Feb 1st ‘22 to June 30 ‘22)

Key objectives of Phase 2

● Preparing the database of mentors from the existing list of entrepreneurs.

● Partnering with the entrepreneurs for the mentorship program.

● Conducting regular mentorship sessions for budding entrepreneurs/entrepreneurs who wish to scale up their existing business.

Selection Criteria

The year-long project calls all the Undergraduate and Post Graduate students of premiere colleges/universities from each State across India for partnering with LetsEndorse. Students who wish to be a part of this project are expected to apply as a team of three from their respective colleges. The teams applying for the project must:

● Be dedicated and passionate about entrepreneurship

● Possess outstanding research skills, communication, writing, and presentation skills. The teams must register using the TGIE Project Application form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1zo1Yx3D_KAik6ILvFNPu980VbjsQpnMQIeZmjUtncYM/viewform?edit_requested=true), which would, after submission, undergo thorough scrutiny by the LetsEndorse Team.

Outcomes for the participants

● Teams successfully completing the year-long project would be recognized in the book, ‘The Great Indian Entrepreneurship Story’ which shall be published with the selected stories of entrepreneurs.

● A ‘Certificate of Recognition’ will be issued to the teams who successfully complete the project.

● A personalized Recommendation Letter from LetsEndorse.

● A Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) would be given to those students who perform exceptionally over the entire period.

● An opportunity to become an agent of change in this massive nationwide movement of building stories of 10,000 entrepreneurs by 2022.
