Job Description: Analyst Intern – Commercial Real Estate Investing, US

Location: Work from home

Tenure of internship: One year

Preferred candidate: Second year students of Finance

Type of internship: Initial training period of three months will be unpaid, depending on performance payment will be positively considered, and upon graduation full-time position

VRB is a full-service commercial real estate investing and loan/debt advisory company. VRB deploys different strategies for investments – equity and/or non, sub or performing 1st lien mortgage notes. VRB preferred asset class for investment is hotels and multifamily across US. Role and Responsibilities:

You’ll be bringing your classroom knowledge to real world of investing in US real estate. Candidates will be utilizing their financial, marketing, and operational knowledge/skills Exposure to commercial real estate is plus but will not be a limiting factor. However, ability to learn and keen interest in real estate is must You’ll be working on acquisitions, divestitures, financial restructurings, underwriting, and distributing equity, and debt. If none of these terms make sense right now, that is okay! As an investment intern, you will undergo intensive training where you will learn the fundamentals. Initial months will be spent of training and learning fundamentals and basics under the direct guidance of founding partner Candidates will be required to build financial models of target real estate asset. Do required due diligence utilizing different documents provided, websites and databases. Be able to critically think about each investment.

Develop thorough understanding of the various US commercial real estate nomenclature, valuation techniques, financing options, and exit strategies After training, candidate shall be involved in underwriting and structuring with a deep fundamental understanding of the sizing, risk mitigation and credit process. Candidate shall be able to anticipate, identify and put a plan to resolve potential investment challenges prior to reaching the funding stages

Required Skills:

The trainees should be conversant with financial modeling in Excel and Powerpoint. Please do not apply if you are not conversant with financial modeling and Powerpoint.

Good command on English

Basic understanding of finance, and marketing

Ability to learn quickly about US commercial real estate terms, processes, and markets

Be able to work late evenings from home


Note:
  1. The duration of the internship is 12 months 
  2. The selection process consists of resume shortlisting followed by personal interviews
  3. Students will be expected to work late, due to the time difference
  4. On completion of the 3 month training period, the students will receive stipend depending upon the performance
  5. Students may get a Pre-Placement Offer based on their internship performance
