Parivar is a non-profit making voluntary organization under the aegis of Bijan Banerjee Memorial Charitable Trust. It is comprised of people with a common goal that is to serve the society. All children aren’t fortunate. Indeed, very few are. Across the world and especially in developing countries, thousands of unfortunate children live on the streets. They belong to families which are so poor that they cannot afford a home. Not even two square meals a day. So it has been for centuries. In recent times, humanitarian organizations have ventured to bridge the social divide, bring these poor hapless children back to the mainstream of life, take good care of them, involve them in activities that only children of the privileged societies of the world can afford. Parivar has been working for the development of these kids in a holistic manner with special emphasis on education, health, nutrition and vocational support. It is observed that conditions on the street vary from country to country and city to city, but some characteristics are constant across national borders. So all of us from across the world forgetting our geographical barriers should be part of this endeavor. Symbolically thus, we at Parivar, have planned a friendly cricket match as in the previous years between Bengal Parivar XI and Celebrity Parivar XI, where the Bengal Parivar will be represented by corporates and the Celebrity Parivar team will comprise representatives of Artiste's Forum of Tollywood. The proceeds will help us develop these underprivileged children in a manner that they become part of the mainstream society.
The CAB has allowed us to hold the match at Eden Gardens on 19th March,2017 from 11 am onwards.
